Fixtures Announced for 2022-2023

Calderdale Explorers Mambas was newly created in July 2022 and achived a creditable 4th postion in their first season in the Local Leeds League Division 2 with a winning season of 11 wins and 7 losses . The season also saw a strong six game winning streak through November 2021 to February 2022.

As the team is a hybrid of Calderdale Explorers U18/U21 players with a small selection of more experience players in dual roles as players and coaches there will always be younger players moving onto colleges , Universities and careers so it is in the nature of the Mambas team that three of the top points scorers from last season have moved on .

However in balance, when there is "Out with the Old" there is also "In with the New" and the new season sees a good sized and talented influx as players progress up through the junior ranks into Mambas .The major postive is that the band of incoming players have a lot of experience playing together as a team in competitive league environment . In the first few games of last year the team had little experience in playng with each other whereas already evident in practices that the new influx play together as a team .

The same coaching team returns with the experienced Alex Mutch, Pavol Marcinko and Matt Ryznar continuing in their roles as Player/Coaches with David Jane taking the lead role in Training sessions . The team has also found a new home and will practice and play at Halifax Grammar with home games tip off at 7.15pm on Tuesday evenings.

All but one of the seasons fixtures have been confirmed with the team competing in the restructured Leeds League Division 3 alongside several new teams joining the League . The team have been given a tough draw against the Spen Valley Vipers first team on Tuesday 11th October at home with the Vipers First Team playing in the Premier Division . In the Mens Trophy the team play against a very experienced Halifax Cobras team on Tuesday 18th again at home . In the mens trophy teams are given advantages based on their position in the league structure from last year so Mambas will start with a 20 point advantage . A full list of the fixtures is published on this website on the Mambas home page.
