With no Senior or Calderdale Hawks games last week it was time to focus on the Junior section who both secured handsome wins . The U16 team were up first with an away trip to Barnsley to play BARNSLEY ADVANCE , Explorers team proved too strong for their opponents in a game which included a third quarter where the Barnsley team were unable to score whilst Explorers ammassed 21 points without reply . Ollie Garland top scored for the first game this season with Issac Sutcliffe maintaining his scoring form adding 13 point with Stan Faulks also acheiving double figues(10) . The team eventually won by 75 points to 23 to maintain theor unbeaten record for the season so far . The game also saw Radu Anastacia and Callum Ireland acheive milestones of over 50 points for the season to date.

The U14 team then faced the CITY OF LEEDS BLACK team that they had beaten away convincingly on the first day of the season . The U14 team established an early lead and stretched the lead in every quarter . Final score was 96 points to Calderdale against 26 poinys scored by the visiting team. Lewis Brown (22) and Franz Remoroza (20 ) both scored twenty or more points towards a comfortable win. Lewis Brown approaches the milestone of 200 points season to date with a total of 193 points to date , Franz Remoroza has 136 points to his name including 13 three pointers . Oliveris Varnelis approacheds the 100 point barrier with 96 points season to date .

Talking of milestones . Although Calderdale Explorers was original founded in the 1980s the team lapsed several times and the current Calderdale Explorers name and team was formed on November 14th 2014 by our chairperson , Glenn Hardaker , so the current reincarnation has just celebrated its 10th birthday .

CALDERDALE EXPLORERS SENIORS entertain LINCOLNSHIRE WILDCATS at 6.30pm on Saturday 14th at NHGS.
