LAST WEEK
CALDERDALE HAWKS 1 outscored JORVIK WARRIORS 3 by 60 points to 45 on Thursday night at North Halifax . A strong defensive performance restricted Jorvik's scoring abilities in the first and second quarters . Allowing the Hawks to take a substntial lead into the 3rd quarter. Jorvik staged a mini comeback but Hawks managed a comfortbale win by 15 points by the final whistle. Farris Ashgar came out top individual points scorer for the second consecutive game qith 16 points alongside Anthiny Dalfiume .
The U14 NBL team faced a long trip to Teeside and encountered a strong team who were sitting near the top of a very competitive league . The opposition proved too strong and Explorers team went down by 85 points to 42 . Lewis Brown ( 14 points). Oliveris Vanelis (11) and Franz Remoroza all managed to reach double figures on the scorecard.
The unbeaten U16 NBL team had the challenge of a top of the table clash with the only other team with an unbeaten record in their league which was HARTLEPOOL HUSKIES which meant by the conclusion of the game one of the unbeaten records would go. By the end of the first half there was only one point in it with Explorers up by 30 points to 29 . The Explorers Under 16 team then outscored the Huskies by 17 points to 10 in the third quarter and stretched the lead by a further 4 points in the last quarter to run out winners by 61 points to 49 and maintain their unbeaten record . Issac Sutcliffe produced a captains performance top scoring with 14 points and a notable sign of a strong team is that the scorecard shows that every player on the team scored points . THe U16 team currently sit second on their league only 2 points behind CITY OF LEEDS WHITE 1 who have played 2 more games. With a win being 3 points this means a potential six points on offer to overcome the gap of 2 .
