As we are now off season at the club with the new competitive season not starting till September the coaches at the club thought it would be good to provide some form of competitive basketball for players to enjoy and engage with . The idea was to provide players opportunity to play competitive matches and also provide the opportunity for players who did not turn out for the National League teams the full game experience.

SPRING LEAGUE brings together all of the players who attend our U16 Friday night practice sessions and all of our U18 / Mambas players to train together on a Friday night in the existing regular practice session . The coaches have then put all of the players into 3 (hopefully equal ) teams ( Calderdale RED, Calderdale WHITE, Calderdale BLUE) who will then have their own designated coach(es) and play competitive matches on selected Saturdays during May , June & July).The matches will be full game experience adopting Basketball England NBL rules and timings with a qualified referee , scoreboard , Table officials and timeouts etc . Squads , results and league positions can then be seen on our website.

Calderdale BLUE is coached by Alex Mutch, the Mambas Head Coach and will be assisted in the coaching role by Ashlee Beck , one of the more experienced Mambas players who is currently doing work experience in coaching at the Club as part of his studies at the Calderdale College Basketball Academy .

Calderdale WHITE is coached by Paul Marcinko who is one of the Mambas Coaches and will be assisted by Zac Mawby who was a previous U16 Captain at the club several years ago and recently finished a year as Captain of Greenhead College.

Calderdale RED is coached by Matt Ryznar, one of the Mambas coaches and Martin Swift who is part of the current U16 coaching team. Both of them have extensive playing experience at club level basketball.
