Akins and Davis Lead Explorers to Victory

Nathaniel Akins 29pts and Eddie Davis 28pts lead the Explorers to victory in their opening game of the new NBL Div4 North against Kendal Warriors at the Inspire Centre Calderdale College. After trading baskets at the start of the game an 11-4 run put the Explorers ahead by 19-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. With strong defence and fast break plays the Explorers blew the game open in the 2nd quarter with a 20-5 run giving them a 45-23 lead at half time.

Calderdale Explorers Bring Home Win

Calderdale exerted pressure from the first tip in their first away game of the season at Kendal yesterday and were good value for their 25-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kendal then came into the game led by shooting guard Gareth France but could not eat into the deficit thanks to tough D from Explorers guards Andrew and Vine and team scoring led by Akins and Dennis meant the visitors still led 47-32 at the half and 64-51 at the final break.
