In a game where the home team playing against a team 17 places higher in the National League standings the Explorers lost their focus and a little discipline in the second half of a game that was always going to be tough and made harder when star player Nathaniel Akins took a knock to his hand after only 2 minutes from the start,it was found later to be broken.
Chester started the game the better leading 10-3 after 5 minutes only for the Explorers to match the visitorsfor the rest of the first quarter, with a couple of good baskets under the hoop resisting strong defence by ypung forward Ajaz Wadood to finish the quarter 18-11 down.
Even though the Explorers got within 5 pts after 4 minutes of the second quarter a 12-5 run by Chester let them extend their lead to 36-24 at the Half.
Still thinking they had a chance to win the game a five minute spell midway through the third quarter saw the game totally slip away from the Explorers. Two technical fouls including one against Coach Fry after he was warned after only six seconds of the game for questioning a non call by officials who showed no grace to the home team all afternoon, and a unsportsmanlike foul called against the home team which blew the game apart allowing the visitors to take full advantage and extend their lead to 61-39 at the end of the third quarter.
Chester led by game M.V.P Neil Gillard went on the rampage in the last quarter, scoring at will and running out convincing 88-49 winners after the damage was done earlier in the game.
